This focuses on the idea of landscape and what contemporary explorations of the theme can show us about our place, tastes and traditions.

With those cool, crisp mornings setting in, there’s no doubt winter is just around the corner. What if we embraced the elements and found the beauty in rain, wind and frost? Incorporating 16 commissioned art works and more than 150 programmed arts events, the City of Perth’s Winter Arts Season is your gateway to doing just that.
Located at the Grand Lane Light Locker Art Space, Boy Racer runs from June to November. Boy Racer is an investigation into the hypermasculinity of the working class male arena of car culture within Western Australia. This new body of work interrogates the motor vehicle as a symbolic extension of masculinity.
As winter descends upon us, escape to the warm surrounds of The State Buildings for a seasonal celebration of vibrant events, live music and hearty fare. Cosy up for spiced mulled wine, progressive dinners, whiskey appreciation masterclasses, meet the maker sessions and more as we raise a Toast to Winter.
City of Perth and Curtin University present Linear Rhythms from 1 June - 31 August at the Old Perth Boys School gallery space. In an inaugural collaboration between the City of Perth and Curtin University Art Collections, Linear Rhythms features abstract paintings by prominent Curtin University alumni.
The State Buildings Music Series returns this winter, featuring some of Perth's most talented musicians and performers in weekly events from 1 June - 31 August. Sydney based WA artist Consuelo Cavaniglia presents atmospheres from 30 June - 31 August at the Plaza Arcade as part of the City of Perth Winter Arts Season 2017. This beautiful mural transforms an everyday space into a spectacle to behold. Shades of colour give the illusion there is a light emanating from the wall. Instead of a solid structure the wall suddenly feels as if you could walk through it.
